285.0. "Heading your way for little hockey" by SQM::MCCAFFERTY (Humpty Dumpty was pushed.) Tue Apr 17 1990 17:34
Hello,
I'm heading up to Toronto next weekend for the DEC Hockey tournament
and was wondering if folks could make a few specific suggestions
regarding restaurants, clubs, etc. I'll be staying outside town at
the Constellation Real and will probably be depending on the subway
for transporation (how late does it run?).
Here is what I'm interested in :
good but not too expensive (entrees under $20US) Italian restaurant
I hear there is a large Italian section to Toronto.
Chinese cuisine and I hear you have a Chinatown as well!
Any Thai restaurants?
Pub / Clubs with music(lean towards blues and R&B) and I don't want to
have to put a jacket on to get in.
Any brew Pubs ? I like to sample the local product and I don't mean the
Molsons, labatts etc.
Thanks, I'm hearing nothing but good things about Toronto,
- John

| Quick note....Toronto has billions of the places you ask about.
Probably too numerous to mention (although the Mad Ave Pub on
Madison Avenue near the Univ. is nice).
Subways generally end at 1AM, but depends upon the station (Toronto
Transit Commission covers about 1000 square miles).

Try the Amsterdam downtown on John Street for a brew pub with a
singles-bar atmosphere.
Some of the large dance clubs are the Diamond, the Copa, and Stilife.
One of the oldest rock/blues clubs that I remember is the El Mocambo.
