Today is the 25th anniversary of the Maple Leaf flag. It has weathered
well and I believe is held in high regard around the world as a
symbol of our country. Happy anniversary.

Happy anniversary too! - I'm not a big flag waver, but personally I think
the Canadian flag is the coolest flag in the world. I mean what nicer
a symbol for a country could you have than a free leaf floating through
the breeze.
Roy - born in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, grew up in Boston, and now
living in Germany, but always thinking about going back to
Canada one of these years..

Actually, our flag is identical to the Peruvian flag except they don't
have anything on the white part where we have the maple leaf. The red
on their's probably symbolizes the blood shed by the Incas during the Conquest,
and the white for cocaine. 8*)

I suppose you just have to be away awhile to feel that way.
Although not very nationalistic ("I'm European"), I get a nice
feeling when I see the flag even after ten years away.
