| The Saskatchewan Roughriders won the Grey Cup 43-40 on a last minute
field goal. Apparently, the game was one of the best Grey Cups
ever. I saw the highlights after the game, and there were some
great plays.

RE: 246.2
Mike and I are step-brothers.... I heard the game was pretty exciting but
I wasn't able to get any stats on the game outside the score. How is
the league holding up? I heard they were on verge of folding a couple
of years ago.

| The CFL is still very exciting, as demonstrated by this past Grey
Cup Game. The league's problem is it's lack of marketing. We had
a few teams which are in bad financial shape like the Ottawa Rough
Riders (who needed a significant loan this year to get through the
season); but if some of the other teams follow up on some of the
marketing techniques employed by the Hamilton Ticats this year,
we will have a perfectly viable football league.

| Are you serious.......
The CFL is a second rate league that should have folded this
year to save themselves from the inevidible disgrace of the
upcoming seasons.
The NFL however shines in the limelight of what a pro league
should be.
Let's can the CFL and bring in 3 NFL teams for British Columbia,
Toronto and Montreal.

Ahhh, Al?
Let's concentrate on real football and boost the Canadian Soccer
League. Football for real men, not 200 Kilo blimps who have to protect
their pea-brains with whimpy pads and helmets! North American-style
football is about as exciting as listening to Astro-turf growing.
Better yet! Why don't we start-up an Australian-Rules football
league. That'd be a better excuse to sit in front of the tube with a
2-4 and waste two hours playing armchair quarterback.

Sorry, someone added the note before I could finish !!!!
Anyway......
I suggest you take time to review your comments
on PEA BRAINS and REAL MEN.
First of all, REAL MEN !!!!!!
Could you last 5 min in a game ..... no way !!!!
And as for your soccer league, it is the only
sport known where the fans are tougher than the
players.
Secondly PEA BRAINS !!!!!!
That's a harsh thing to say.
Are you sure you want to say that ? I wonder
what would happen if a few players recieved
your note.........

<<Could you last 5 min in a game ..... no way !!!!
Who would want to, or could. With all that blubber, defecation and
expulsion of flatus, the playing field is a toxic waste zone.

So we agree. North American football fans wear panty-hose.

You're right, I was too harsh. To refer to these guys as pea-brains
is an insult to all genuine cretins. I also have no fear of this
note falling into the fore-paws of a few 'players' - who's going to
read it to them? Maybe you could do that, Al. But do you really
want to read so loudly and slowly, and so many times?
Good gosh, Al! Do you realize that these guys go to university because:
1. Their mommy's refuse to dress them.
2. They need a Mack truck to bring their peanut butter and
jelly sandwiches to school.
3. They're eligible for a 'Not_A_Rocket_Scientist' scholarship.
4. They get to see girls who are not ugly third-graders.
5. All of the above.
I mean, holy smoke! These wing-nuts still mark their X on their contracts with
a crayon because they tend to poke their eyes out when they use sharpened
pencils, and you can tell they use crayons by the fact that there are marks
around their mouths and bits stuck in their teeth.
Do me a favour, Al? Could you tell these numb-nuts that after a game, they're
supposed to take their pads and helmet off BEFORE they put on their street
clothes?

| Hey not only the fans wear panty-hose, I remember an ad done by Joe
Namath (or howeveryouspellhisname) that showed HIM wearing them. I
also heard that the players wear panty-hose to "keep warm" in those
cold-cold-cold "games".
Jean
And why do you think the QB "feels" the private parts of the player in
the prone position?

Looks like you are going to need some help here Alan....
These people obviously know nothing of the greatest sport ever played.
I will retrive any data I can on the subject and return with my report
in the new year.
Oh yes..... Mr Rushton.
HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY !!!!

In rebuttal:
Thanks for sticking up for me Steve. I really needed the help as
you could obviously surmise. It appears that in a battle of wits I am
at a great disadvantage when up against the likes of the venerable
Mr. Rushton. It's too bad he cannot see the truth though, football is
indeed a sport for the intellectual as well as the peasant. Why I've
even heard that Albert Einstein loved to be involved in impromptu
scrimmages on the campus of Princeton. If it's good enough for Albert,
it's certainly good enough for me, as it were.
Happy Holidays Men,
(You too Pat)
Alan ;-)
