I am not sure of the name, but there is a record/tape/cd store in
the Eaton Centre in Toronto that sells nothing but classical music.
They might have some of his recordings.

| SAM the RECORD MAN on Yonge just North of Dundas has a lot of Glenn
Gould stuff. I have seen T.V. and Radio documentaries on Gould also,
so may want to stop by the CBC to see what may be available.

| As Glenn Gould is a native son of Toronto you should find almost
anything you want here. In Sam the Record Man you'll find his work on
tape, vinyl, and CD. Go for CDs if you have a player as Gould as
record in digital, at his insistence, long before other classical
recording went modern. Sam also has a hugh collection of classical
stuff in VHS/NTSC and is the most likely place to find a videotape.
Next door to Sam's on Yonge Street is A&A Records where I find prices
better and shopping is more civilised. You'll find books about
Gould in The World's Largest Bookshop that is in the street facing
A&A.
Look out for reruns of the Toronto segment of Cities TV series that is
about 10-12 years old. It was Glenn Gould who hosted it. He was
only slightly eccentric. The highlight is his passionate conduction
of the elephants trumpetting at Toronto's Zoo. At least it proves
that not all Torontonians are dull and boring.

| A biography, "Glenn Gould: A Life With Variations" (or something
like that), by Otto Friedrich, was published this year by Lester & Orpen
Dennys. It received pretty good reviews, and should be available in any
decent bookstore.
The National Library in Ottawa has a very substantial collection
of Gould materials & memorabilia, some of which was on display during the
the summer of 1988 at their Wellington Street building. I believe this
exhibition is now touring the country. I'm sure they have other material
as well, so you might want to contact them when you're in Ottawa.
