| Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, Ontario (just outside of Cornwall,
Ontario towards Toronto on Highway #2). This is a pioneer village
which has many of the trades in operation (blacksmith, cabinet maker,
baker, etc.). On this same highway (which by the way meanders along
the St. Lawrence River) there is a Indian Village as it was many many
years ago and Prehistoric land which is as it was many many many
many many years ago (ie Dinoasaurs and other wild things).

| A little further down the road ( from Morrisburg) at Kingston, Ont.
is old Fort Henry overlooking Lake Ontario. With it's "changing
of the guard",etc. , it should be of considerable interest to children
of that age.
Later, on arrival at Toronto, there is the Metro Zoo (north off
Hwy#401 on Meadowvale(?) Road . One of the 10 best Zoos in the world
,i believe. Also in Toronto is the Ontario Science Centre at Don
Mills Road and Eglington Ave. - guaranteed to captivate kids and
most adults.

| Children usually love the trains and climbing on them at the Science
and Technology Museum here in Ottawa. The new National Gallery is
now open and the new Museum of Civilization will be opening in just
a short while, tomorrow I believe. There is also the New National Aviation
museum and the old National War museum. A ride along the Rideau
Canal by boat would be a lot of fun and when you start heading down
Kingston way, a ride through the 1000 islands by boat would also
be interesting as well as a visit to Boldt Castle. If you or a friend
have access to CAA or AAA, do them a favour and pick up a few Guide
Books.

| I visited last year from Scotland with my kids(10 and 8).
Ontario Place in Toronto and Le Grande Splash(giant waterslides)
about 10 miles from Ottawa in the Gatineau Hills were much appreciated.
