| First, I'd like to thank Darrell for starting this newsletter.
To date, there has been spotty coverage of Canadian news in this
file.
In the last issue, the exchange rates showed the number of Canadian
dollars it required to purchase one pound or one US dollar, but
I read it the other way around. Can you clarify this in the next
edition, perhaps by listing
CDN $1.00 = $0.8414 US
= #0.5586 UK

Glenn, use the 'compose character' key and press the letter 'l' and then
the 'hyphen' key. That will give the pound-currency symbol, e.g. �
Hey, that was fun! Maybe we can quote Japanese Yen as well...let's see
now...� Son-of-a-gun, it works.

| Issue #2 of the Canadian Chronical had a item about a beaver
building a dam in a person's swimming pool.
When we were in
Orleans (near Ottawa), we observed a grey squirrel on a swaying
tree, trying to get onto a roof of a neighbour's house. The
squirrel would land on the roof, slide off the roof, fall about 4
metres to the ground. It would then try again; up the tree, jump
onto the roof, fall to the ground. Determined or silly, I know
not which.
