| I believe that's the Bill which followed the Bill 101 decision by the
Supreme Court. It allows for non-French signs inside stores, but
French-only outside.

| Bill 178 is a foot in mouth response to the supreme court ruling
that in essence said that idividual rights can overrule collective
rights. The protests are for the reinstatement of bill 101.

| Big news about Bill 178 is that the government is using the loose
language in the bill to ban bilingual signs in major chain stores.
This means that there is little difference between the use of this
bill and Bill 101 (though someone from Montreal may disagree).
This isn't over yet.
