153.0. "looking to come back to Canada" by CLOSUS::HOE (toddlin' Sam's daddy) Tue Feb 28 1989 16:00

Back in note 67, I asked if there's a VTX type file where I can
look at job postings in Canada (especially Ontario). Canadian
jobs used to be posted under GIA but that is no longer so.

I am Canadian and am looking to relocate back to Canada; with
preference in the Kanata or Toronto area. I am currently employed
in Colorado Springs, working for Education Services, Development
and Publications as a Writer/Course Developer IV.

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Calvin Hoe

Don't know where you could look for general information, but you
might want to contact Eric Drumm in TRC. He is/has just set up a
Customized Training Service group for Education Services in Canada.

I believe the contact for the KAO area is Ron Chan, been here for
a few months. Jobs are posted here in KAO, but are not published
    as they are Stateside.

It's not easy, I came back to Canada in 1985, but had difficulty
in finding out what was available.

The Ed unit left this facility a few months ago and moved closer
to downtown Ottawa, corner of Baseline and Woodroffe

    Keep plugging,

This is nowhere near downtown Ottawa. It is in fact in the heart
of downtown Nepean, right next to city hall.

Well, the gentleman did say closer to downtown Ottawa. After all,
Nepean is closer to downtown Ottawa than Kanata.
From a different perspective the Baseline Road and Woodroofe Avenue
location is really close to downtown Ottawa. ie; You can get on
the Queensway and be downtown in 5 minutes or so.

I'll concede that. For us though, we moved out of Ottawa
2 years ago (remember Carling Ave).

Hey next time your at the NEPEAN office call in. I'd like
to go downtown with you and see what you fly. Unless "or so"
can be interpreted very broadly. From here at the right time
it can take 5 minutes or so to reach the Queensway. 8-)
