116.1 | Stay in Old Quebec!! | KAOA05::FRERE | Eric Frere @KAO DTN 621-2184 | Thu Sep 22 1988 13:56 | 8 |
| I assume that you mean Quebec CITY. If they are only staying a
weekend, I recommend that they stay at the Chateau Frontenac and
spend the weekend discovering Old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham
and take the ride down to "lower" Quebec. There are numerous nice
little restaurants in Old Quebec where it would be difficult NOT
to find something suitable.

| A quick visit to your local AAA or CAA office would land you
with a tour/accomadation/sights book and maps. Old Quebec is a must
stay place.

| I was in Quebec City during the last week of August on holidays.
I can say that your people will love it there. If they want to stay
at the Chateau it will cost about $150 - $500/night. There are alot
of other great places to stay for much less within a few hundred
meters of the chateau. I'll see if I can dig up the info.

| Can anyone give me some idea how far Quebec City is from the Boston
Area? (Hours driving and mileage?)
Also, what about the best routes to take.
Thanks!

| Distance about 400 miles, best route: up US93, then US91, then 55,
then 20 (east) to Qubec.
A nice hotel that is near the "old" Qubec and close to Les Plaines
is the LOEWS le CONCORDE (418) 647-2222 about $75 per night (cad)

| Jean,
Thanks for the mileage information! We're staying at the Chateau
Frontenac and I'm really looking forward to it. It was advertised
in the Boston Globe newspaper at $65 (U.S. dollars) a night. Seemed
like a good deal to me and we've never been to Quebec City.

Hello,
Hopefully someone can clarify something for me... I'm heading
up to Mont St. Anne this weekend and the directions we received
from the tourist office was to go US95, to 201N then 20 into
Quebec City????
Is US93 to US 91 to 55 and 20 a better route from MASS?
Also, any suggestions on where to go for New Year's Eve would
be appreciated...
Thanks,
Rich

Can someone let me know
What transportation is available between the airport and the
city centre?
and
What's the weather likely to be like?
