| We call them lots of things, but `unfortunate' would be a suitable
word for use in a public notesfile

| The yellow pages is a little large to put into an envelope to send
to you. Tell me what your preferrences are regarding veggie food
and I'll send you the name and phone number. Tell me where you will
be staying so that I can localize the resturant. Maybe Vmsmail would
be a more suitable means of communications for this note.

| Pat,
You might want to check a large public or university library.
They tend to stock white *and* yellow pages for most metropolitan
areas. Whether this will include Canadian metro areas, I'm not
sure, but it's worth a look.
As for book stores, check out Topic #5. I specifically asked about
bookstores there.

| Pat,
As for getting a map...if you belong to the AAA, you can get maps
from them. In fact, they have 'Tourist Guides' they publish that
tell you about the area, with a general map of the Toronto area,
and a detailed map of the downtown core.
If you don't manage to get a map before you get here, go to any
subway station - they give out maps of the city free!
Enjoy your stay here in Toronto !
Dave
P.S. As for .0, we are called 'Torontonians' - I won't tell you
what we call the guys in Quebec! ;-)

| Also, drop in at the tourist centre which stands on Yonge St by
the Eaton Centre downtown. I think it's run by an outfit called
"Metro Toronto Tourist And Convention Association" (or something). They
put out a great monthly guide on what is going on, what to see, where to
stay, etc etc. Lots of other handouts there too.
PS Cabbagetown is now called "the Patch" -- since all the
yuppies took over there renovating the old houses. Pls update your guide
books accordingly ... and if you never heard of Cabbagetown, just don't
try to buy cabbage there when you come to TO ;-)

Does this mean they should be referred to as "Cabbage-Patch Yuppies"?

Yes, I've written the Tourist and Convention Association for more
information. Thanks to all who responded here, and by VAXmail.
