2.0. "Hogtown Housing" by KAOA01::CURZON (Richard Curzon KAO 4-3/7A) Mon Jun 22 1987 18:55
Last year in the housing boom, there were some incredible stories
about the sellers market in Toronto. This year the tide has turned...
or so it seems.
Real estate agents have said that 15,000 is the number of houses on
the market in TO, where it goes from seller's market to buyer's market.
I heard a couple of months ago that there were 25,000 houses on the
market then. And last month the news was an incredible 49,000.
Is there really that much downward pressure now? If so those
numbers must mean lots of speculators must are bailing out and getting
burned ;-).
(I'm probably a "buyer" in a year or so...)

It's been a couple years since the base note was posted, and I'm
curious about what's happened with regard to the price of housing
in Toronto since then. Up significantly? Still flat?

2.2 | Up, up, then it hit warp speed | TRCO01::OBRIEN | Glenn O'Brien @TRC 18/6 | Thu Aug 24 1989 19:25 | 5 |
| Toronto housing has sky-rocketed, although it is the market has
cooled somewhat due to the high interest rates. The average price
is now around $280,000 (I think that's about right).
