The site where I'm currently assigned has purchased two BROUTER 90s to interconnect two of their sites. They did not realize that the device did not have an AUI port. They want to know if there is any down side to coneecting the Brouters to their LANs using DECCXM-AA Transceivers to connect the brouter to the LANs through a DELNI. Thanx in advance, Ken Polakowski

1298.1 | Yes to "Global Port" | FOUNDR::SHEEHAN | Mon Apr 21 1997 11:26 | 21 | |
Hi Ken, You can connnect the DECXM to the DTE "Global Connector" port of the DELNI. Make sure the switch is in Global position though. You could also use a DEMPR or DESPR or another 10Base2 repeater with an AUI port to connect the DECbrouter to one of the DELNI's other ports. The DEFAR may be a cheaper solution unless you have some DEMPR's lying around. DECrepeater90FA (DEFAR) is a three port repeater Fiber, Thinwire to AUI which provides low cost connectivity to any combination of these media types. Regards, o /\_.
