!!!!!!!!!!!! IMPORTANT NOTICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a problem with X.21 signaling on the DECbrouter90T2a
on all of this model DECbrouter shipped after 7-Jul-1994 will
experience this problem due to an "etch" layout change on the
Serial Interfcace Daughter card. The problem experienced with these
DECbrouters is that the X.21 "C" lead remains in an ON state and
does not allow the connected modem or ISDN Terminal adapter to
drop the call.
* This problem is not known to exist with DECbrouter90 T2 or T1
units.
With that said, none of the current DECbrouter models have been
qualified for X.21 using a dialup line. The DECbrouters were
qualified for "Leased Line" X.21 connnections only. There is an
error in the DECbrouter Instalation Manual EK-DECBR-IN.A01
page 3 that implicitly indicates that the 90T2a is not Leaded
Line only. This is inncorect and will be corrected in future
versions of this document.
What to do if your customer has a DECbrouter 90T2a with this problem:
Open an IPMT Case and enter the configuration of the DECbrouter
as well as the Rev. and Serial number. We will try to provide
an acceptable workaround based on the customers configuration
and modem/ISDN Terminal adapter.
