I have a VaxStation 4000-90 that displays the following error under the following conditions. It otherwise runs error free. >>> show device EZA0 line....... ?33 unxint 010 00000002 041F0000 - the system was just powered-up, subsequent attempts to use the '>>> show device' command appear to work reliably. - halt switch must be set to 2. If set to 3...the above failure is not seen. Is this a known problem ?? Is there a fix ?? I'm running v1.4 of Cougar console code. I have tried shortening the bus and testing each scsi device one by one - the symptom never changes. Any thoughts Hube.

"EZA0" is the OpenVMS name for the SGEC Ethernet interface. As for the error itself, I'd ignore it as long as everything seems to be working. Otherwise, I'd check the VAXstation user documentation (see URL below) and the VAXstation 4000 service documentation to make sure this unexpected interrupt isn't expected when the halt switch is set this way -- this might be normal. Failing that, call in the folks formerly known as field service for a look. http://www-mcslu.das.dec.com/mcsl_abs/ek-vaxog-in-b01.html |
