I have a report of a system crash occurring. This is the closest I can
get to the problem on the atr and swl logs. There seems to be a LIB$ failure
from ACC of invalid string descriptor. They are up again but would like
some indication of what caused the crash. Thanks.

I don't really know, but I've seen the lib-f-invstrdes, ... with
deallocation of memory before.
What version of VMS?
I notice you're on ACMS v4.0--are there plans to get to v4.1?
Perhaps ACMS didn't quite come down correctly from the night before.
Did the system really crash, or do you mean the ACMS system?
Did they have bugcheckfatal set?
