4149.0. "partial support for LSE?" by CSC32::J_HENSON (Don't get even, get ahead!) Fri Apr 11 1997 10:45

Below is an excerpt from the SPD for DECSET V12.1. I says that ACMS
partially support LSE. A customer has read that, and wants to know
what it means.

I've looked in the ACMS SPDs, as suggested in the DECSET SPD, but
cannot find any further explanation.

Could someone explain what the 'partial support' is?

Also, has anyone had any experience using ACMS V4.0-2 with DECSET V12.1?
Per each product's SPDs, these are not compatible versions, but I
figure that's Digital hasn't tested this combination (and probably
won't). If anyone has any experience with this version mix, though,
I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Jerry

The following VAX products partially support LSE (refer to product SPDs
for more details); the templates are included with the product:

   VAX ACMS
   VAX DATATRIEVE

I think it might have something to do with the COMPILE/REVIEW
that is part of LSE. If you are debugging a language program, you can
do a COMPILE/REVIEW and go to each line of the program that has
a problem, and fix it. I don't know if you can do that for the
    TDL language.

There is also a problem with PCA. It doesn't work with ACMS on
Alpha. On Vax there is a restriction as to where you can use it.
We are currently researching that for our cover letter.
