ACMS V4.1 OpenVMS VAX V6.2 In the event that one requires to kill one or more ACMSCPs (3 in this case) when PERM_CPS=90 and CP_SLOTS=90, should we expect to see new CP recreated immediately and should their numbers be CP091 and above or should the original numbering be reused? Is there known instances whereby existing ACMS users can continue to operate, BUT new ACMS users may not be able to log on to ACMS (hanging) after killing CP processes? Regards, Paddy Hanley.

CP processes are always recreated with the name they had prior to being deleted (e.g. CP070 is replaced by CP070). The TSC does not create new ones immediately when a perm one disappears. As users log back in, it'll create one as needed and mark it as permanent. Bill |
