4139.0. "Group debug with a COBOL INITIALIZE statement" by CSC32::D_BUTLER () Wed Apr 02 1997 18:53
Customer is doing group debug and is in a COBOL step procedure. When
he gets to an initialize statement whose target is an ACMS workspace
the debugger steps by offsets into the statement with each debug step
command. He appears to have quite valid reasons for initializing the
workspace although the CDD will init the workspace for him. When he
does a set br to the following line and does a go the initialize
completes successfully.
He wants to know why this occurs and claims that it is ALPHA specific.
I do not have a test bed set up yet to prove/disprove this. Any ideas?
