    No idea really, hope RDB found the answer for you but:-
    Has anyone else attached successfully to that database before the
    failing server on that day?
    I.e., is anything else on the database when this fails, including other
    servers?
    Are you in a cluster, is it node dependent?
    Is the database periodically recreated, (like with Data Distributor),
    or significantly changed?
    Do you get anything exciting in swlup or audit?

    Cheers,
    Steve.

4060.2Check the SYSGEN PQL quotasOHMARY::HALLBill Hall - ACMS Engineering - ZKO2-2Fri Mar 21 1997 08:229

    	You might also want to investigate the PQL SYSGEN parameters. Due
    to the way the processes are created, SYSUAF quotas are not always
    used, but instead the PQL_Mxxx or PQL_Dxxxx quotas are used instead.

    	There is a show quota command procedure on the Freeware CD ROM
    distributed with VMS. You might run that and watch the process.
