10.5List of conferences indexed is now more usefulVAXCPU::michaudJeff Michaud - ObjectBrokerFri Jan 24 1997 21:1321
    FWIW, the conference index:

	    http://vaxcpu.zko.dec.com:8080/conflist

now has 1,193 conferences listed, and the list is now sorted on the
basename of the conference (but can be sorted on other keys), and the
default format also now displays the conference title and notice for
each conference. Also the top noters list for each conference can
now be sorted on other keys, and you can also put a range of dates
for notes that will be counted.

BTW, there are now 9,254,847 notes indexed overall.

And if anyone has copies of old conferences no longer generally
accessable, such as previous incarnations of conferences, such
as SoapBox (which btw is the conference with the most notes out
of all in the index with over 309,000 notes, and it's current
incarnation is only a little over 2 years old, far surpassing
one of it's runner's up like the Digital conference with only
134,000 notes and is almost 11 years old), such as on tape, let
me know, I'd like to index them.

There are no versions of Soapbox around. They had been deleted.

Thanks Andy. I had been pointed in Mike's direction before
but got the run-around when I asked. I re-asked Mike when
I saw your note, and found out this time that sadly Mike is
holding some gripe against me that he is not even willing to
discuss (if anyone finds out what I've done to upset him
please let me know, maybe Mike just doesn't like my web site?).

BTW, typo in .5, that should be 2,193, not 1,193, which
would be less than what the index started with :-)

Should activity be adjusted for conferences that no longer exist?
How about for replies that have been removed for various reasons (i.e.,
    conferences moving, moderator actions, etc.)?

It would be interesting if you could combine authors using different
node names, but I realize that may be hard to verify.

10.10This web site is going away tommorow (Friday)VAXCPU::michaudJeff Michaud - ObjectBrokerThu Jun 05 1997 16:439
The Web site announced in .0, ie.

		http://vaxcpu.zko.dec.com:8080/notes

will cease to exist sometime tommorow when we are unplugged from
	the Digital network.

Happy continued noting for those few souls that haven't been
sold off yet! The last 10 years have been fun. Bye!

I wish you might have said something sooner! Maybe someone would have
volunteered to host the service. Was really neat looking back at the
conferences I've been in!

Good luck with your new company! Another end of an era is upon us.
