What version of Radius is DRAS based upon? If a customer runs Radius from Livingston at one site and DRAS at another are the file formats the same?

No, the DRAS and Livingston database file formats are not compatible. The DRAS code is not based on the livingston RADIUS code. If all goes well we may be able in the near future to supply a batch load program that takes the text-based Livingston user account file and batch load it into a DRAS database. Dick | |||||
3545.2 | I need to ask my question differently. | ALFSS1::16.179.128.181::Biazzo | Digital has had it now! | Tue Jun 03 1997 17:52 | 22 |
I think I didn't ask my question properly. I am not concerned about the username/password database. We will populate that manually with the GUI front end as there are not that many user records yet. I was referring to the output/log file or the actual records that are written when a user logs in and out. I have one customer site using Livingston Portmasters and Livingston's Radius for activity logging. This is an ISP in Barbados. We now have another ISP for the same large customer going into the Turks and Caicos Islands but they are using DECservers. The Barbados customer has written some routines that sort and consolidate the Radius records into a separate file that is then used as input to their corporate billing system. We want to be able to use the same sorting and consolidation routines on the Radius records that are output by DRAS. The Turks and Caicos site uses the same corporate billing system. Are we going to have a problem or are the output (logging) records the same format? Thanks in advance. |
