We have been getting questions at the Americas Call Center on the 900MC. MODEMWARE: I got some general info on this from Microcom's web site. How does it work in the 900MC? Is there anything to set up? If so, is there a CLI and how is it accessed? CONSOLE PORT Is this a standard DECserver port will all features, or just a set up port? Do the commands differ from those on other DECservers? If so, how? FUNCTIONS Does the DECserver 900MC support all of the traditional features of the other DECservers? For example: 8 sessions per port, dedicated and prefered service, modem dial-out via reverse LAT and TELNET Listener. I would love to get a manual on this product. Is one available yet? Thanks! RE: .0 > How does it work in the 900MC? Just fine, thank you. :-) > Is there anything to set up? No. It't in Flash RAM on each "modem". Can be upgraded over a serial connection, just like other modems. > If so, is there a CLI and how is it accessed? No CLI, per se. You connect tothe modem (e.g. telnet listener) ans issue Hayes compatible commands. > CONSOLE PORT > Is this a standard DECserver port will all features, or just a set up > port? Standard port, without a modem. > Do the commands differ from those on other DECservers? If so, how? Some added commands specifcially related tot he integram modems. > FUNCTIONS > Does the DECserver 900MC support all of the traditional features of > the other DECservers? For example: > 8 sessions per port, > dedicated and prefered service, > modem dial-out via reverse LAT and TELNET Listener. Runs the _same_ software image as other DS700's and DS900's. > I would love to get a manual on this product. Is one available yet? Yes. It's probably even on the web somewhere. Regards, Dave | |||||

You may copy the Install Manual from: IROCZ::USER3:[ALBRIGHT.PUBLIC]EK-DSRVX-IC-A01T1.PS It may help to think of the DS900MC as a DS900TM with the modems pulled inside. About the only difference is that we had to muck around with the port numbering. Ports 1 thru 8 are modem ports on a daughter card and port 9 does everything port 1 does on a 900TM. Units certified for use in the U.S. and Canada are in stock. Other countries will follow. Loren |
