An ISP customer of ours is having problems with a DRAS 1.0-DECserver 900TM
combination on their site. The DECservers fail to authenticate
intermittently,
and I am not exactly sure where the problem lies: on the DECservers or on the
DRAS RADIUS authentication software. Case history is as found in notes 3714
and
other related notes. A short summary:
1) installed DRAS 1.0 and DECserver 900TMs
2) DECserver 900TMs reboot every hour or so -- solution: replace DECserver
firmware with then-available NPSS::PUBLIC$DSK:[INTERCHANGE]WWENG2_FT10C14.sys
field test software -- reboot problem goes away
*** QUESTION: What is the latest version of the firmware
and where do I get it?
3) DRAS 1.0 stops authenticating after a certain size of the database is
reached
also not all users appear -- solution: install DRAS patches -- problem only
partially solved, as mentioned above
4) as a partial fix, the customer stops the DRAS server every 12 hours,
erases the logfile database, and restarts the DRAS server -- DRAS server
creates new accounting logfile
Any suggestions? Really need help on this one as the customer is about to do
something reaaaally bad.

Has the problem been escalated through official support channels? Has an
IPMT been filed on this particular problem?
