3519.0. "DECserver90M-to-UNIX - Help!" by GEC013::ZIGLER (Tom Zigler DTN 435-7979) Fri May 02 1997 09:49
Consider the following diagram:

Async TCP/IP
Node_A is a Digital UNIX V3.2d-1 system with its asynchronous port tty00
configured as a vt100 9600 baud terminal port.
I have defined a LAT service on the DECserver 90M as follows:
Local> set port 8 access remote
Local> set port 8 autobaud disabled
Local> set service GWY port 8 enabled
The NT Workstation (NTW) user should be able to connect to the GWY LAT
service to bring up a dumb terminal vt100 window on Node_A. However,
I cannot get the above scheme to work.
The tty00 async port on Node_A has an H8585-AA adapter and its cable is
an BN24H cable into the serial port of the DECserver90M.
1. Am I using the right adapter and cable?
2. Is my terminal server LAT setup correct?
We have tried different combinations of cables and adapters with no
success.
Can anyone help?
\Thanks in Advance
