    Hi all,
    
    outgoing TELNET from the DECserver (e.g. via dedicated service).
    In normal case, this will connect to the default port 23.
    Is there any way to provide a free-defined number, e.g. 7658 ?
    
    For some reason, the optional PORT (from the online help) does
    allow only 2001-2032, but these are the port numbers of incoming
    telnet of the DECserver (for e.g. telnet printing).
    Outgoing TELNET should be be able to connect to any IP-system.
    In normal case, the remote system is not a DECserver.
    
    Any plans to change this behaviour ?
    Did I miss anything ?
    
    Tested with NAS 2.0.
    
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

We have noticed this, and the restriction will be lifted in DNAS V2.2.
We won't go as far as allowing full 16-bit port numbers (65535) but will
accept TCP port numbers in the range 1-9999.

  This problem was also corrected in ECO #4 of DNAS V2.0 (BL10D-40).
  The images are available from NPSS::PUBLIC$DSK:[INTERCHANGE.DECSERVERS.DNAS]
  as WWENG2_BL10D.SYS and MNENG2_BL10D.sys.

    in the meantime I've tested with NAS 2.0 (DS900 TM)
    
    LOCAL>C x.x.x.x PORT y   (only in 2001-2032)
    LOCAL>C NODE PORT Y      (up to 9999)
    DEF PORT x DEDICATED NODE PORT y (only in 2001-2032).
