3490.0. "frame error if power off the terminal !" by TPOVC::MIKECHANG () Mon Apr 07 1997 07:22
There are 4 remote terminals connected to DS90TL,the problem is always there
if ANY one of remote terminal (VT520) is powered down then the frame error will
increase at once. Use "monitor port n counter" from DS90tl,we could see frame
error increase about 10 or 20 per second. That will make touble in user Appli.
,process is scanning and get data input from remote terminal.
The all computer equipments use the same power source (UPS). 2 MV3100,1*DS90TL
and one dec terminal in computer room, 4*VT520 in remote,they all use same UPS
that ONLY for computer. We have tried to ground the terminal cable via its
shield and check power source to have seperate computer ground,..etc.
Now to prevent the problem occur by plug out power cable if off that terminal
temperily. From Stars know,DS200 (DSRVB) have same problem and fix by FCO.
Any one have same experience before,any input would be very appreciated.

3490.1 | DEC423 will have problem | TPOVC::MIKECHANG | | Wed Apr 16 1997 06:35 | 4 |
| From many information,We know the cross-talk will be generated by
DEC423 port when terminals are powered off. Some products have FCO
to prevent the problem like DECSERVER200,H3100...etc. So
change terminal end into RS232,the problem is disappear.
