3447.0. "Problems with RapidPrint 500 and escape codes" by CSC32::B_YOUNGWIRTH () Mon Feb 24 1997 14:07
I have searched the entire notesfile for anything pertaining to the
RapidPrint 500 and have not found a thing, so am requesting help here.
When printing to an LA400 and sending escape sequences, the sequences
are not being interpreted. Instead, when sending the following
sequence
<ESC>[4w
or
<DCS>4w
the 4w prints, but that's it.
The customer is printing from an Alpha running OpenVMs 6.2-1H3
using LAT. We have been testing by printing from the LAT que
and also copying directly to the LTA device. In either case, we have
not been able to get this to work correctly. He is printing to an
LA400 connected to the parallel port on the RapidPrint. We tried
setting the LTA device to PASTHRU, but that did not resolve the
problem.
The RapidPrint is V3.4/5 (961028), and he is printing to Port_1. If
anyone has seen a problem similar to this, please let me know.
Thanks

3447.1 | Changing protocol to ANSI resolved problem | CSC32::B_YOUNGWIRTH | | Thu Feb 27 1997 13:14 | 7 |
| Just in case someone else has the same question. When selecting the
parallel port on the LA600, the default is not ANSI (from what the
customer says, I do not have one here to test with). By changing the
protocol to ANSI, it works fine.
