548.0. "V1 doc nits" by SANITY::LEMONS (And we thank you for your support.) Fri May 16 1997 09:35

    Hi

Here are some doc nits on the DRAS Use (Windows) V1.0 document:

    o p. 1-1 twice mentions Digital Connection Management Services;
    shouldn't this be D R A S, instead?

o p. 1-7, #8 should, I think, read, "If all conditions are met, the
DRAS server sends a list of configuration values for the user to the
DRAS _client_ in an Access-Accept packet."

    o p 1-10, last paragraph mentions 'PAP Operation', but I didn't see
this mentioned in the table on p. 1-9. I guess my real comment is, why
is PAP mentioned, where does it fit into the scheme of things, etc.

o p. 2-5, is the 'Server' database really called that, or is it the
    'Client' database?

o p. 3-2, step 1 mentions running 'the SetupDb utility (optional)'.
What a heartless tease (:) ) to read this and then find nothing else
about this in the manual. Why?

General comments: the USe document is too 'light'. I read it, and felt
like I'd had half a meal. It left too many questions unanswered, and I
went looking for a 'Management' or 'Command Procedure' manual to find
the details left out. But these don't seem to exist.

    What's missing:
o details of the various authentication schemes. I still don't
    understand what host means.
o all of the values allowed for all of the parameters. Seeing these,
and their definition/explanation, would go along way to telling me more
    about the product
o maintaining the static database seems to be absent, particularly any
bulk load and automatic synchronization opportunities. Yes, I know
these basically didn't make it into the V1 product, but
confirming/enying their existence would keep me from wondering and
    asking more questions.

Hope this helps. Time permitting, I'd be glad to review the V2.2
    documentation.

    Thanks!
