| ASM does not bring up the screens for a DECserver in the browser list that is
unavailable (not responding to a ping) because once you got to those screens,
you couldn't do anything (ASM would realize the DECserver is not responding, and
not allow you to change any of the settings). ASM should allow the user to
change the settings needed for it to connect to the DECserver (login/privileged
password, Remote Console TCP port number, and IP address). If a server's Remote
Console TCP port # is different than what ASM has in its database, and the user
tries to open the server, a window will pop up allowing the user to change the
TCP port # and retry the connection (the same goes for login/privileged
password). This is because the server will still respond to a ping even if some
of these settings are incorrect.
ASM could be modified so that this window pops up even if the server does not
respond to a ping (perhaps ASM has the wrong IP address for the server). An
IPMT shouldn't be necessary.

| Dan,
I tested this. If the server does not exist in cASM and you try to
add it in, and the tcp port is 2001, you get connection refused, but
not the option to change the tcp port number. If the terminal server
already exists in cASM, it gives you the option to change the login
password, priv password and the tcp port number. I will go ahead and
put in an IPMT case on this.
