917.0. "help required for connect VNSwithc to WindowsNT.." by QCAV02::PMK () Wed May 28 1997 05:41

    Hello,

One of our customer is using VNSwitch900EX with DEChubone. The firmware
    of VNSwtich is V1.5.

Customer wants to connect this VNSwitch to WindowsNT 4.0 system.
Ethernet card used on WindowsNT system is Intel PRO/100B.
Software drivers used for configuring the ethernet is from NT
    distribution itself.

With the above configuration WindowsNT system is unable to connect
to VNSwitch. Customer has tried to use Windows95 system instead of
WindowsNT with the same ethernet card. With Windows95 connection is
established to VNSwitch and found working.

Any addtional configuration has to be done on WindowsNT system, so that
WindowsNT system can connect to VNSwitch on 100Mbs link.

    Thanks inadvance and regards
    P. Malakondaiah

It would help to understand exactly what type of difficulties you are
having in getting the VNswitch Fast Ethernet port to connect to the
    Intel PRO/100B NIC.

What are the states of the port status and PHY LEDs on the
    	VNswitch?

From the "monitor" (talk 5) CLI submenu, please post the results of
"interface stat <interface number>" CLI command. This will display
the current operational state of the Fast Ethernet link.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience configuring an Intel
PRO/100B NIC on an NT system, and I am not a very experienced NT user.
For what it's worth, note 820 describes some of the problems someone
else was having configuring a DE500-AA on an NT system
