885.1 | Methinks your test image is a corrupted one..... | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | | Fri May 02 1997 10:12 | 16 |
| Brad, there were some verrry isolated cases where when the
VNswitch developers made a test image (which is what the
T1.0-115 image is), available to us that within a period
of time greater than 5 minutes & less than 1/4 hour a bogus
copy of the image was present at the pointer provided us.
Later, a corrected image was made available which didn't
exhibit the crashing problems seen on the bogus version of
the image.
What you may be seeing is something of the same ilk. I would
strongly suggest that you upgrade to a more stable image for
your VNswitch900EA. So if the VNswitch900EA isn't totally
brain dead, upgrade it to a V rev image. Otherwise, if it is
brain dead you will have to force a bootp to get it to load
a valid image.

| Thanks Bob,
I havn't had any success in tftp'ing a new image to the VNswitchEA. Are there
procedures for forcing a bootp image to it? I didn't find anything in the Install
guide.
Thanks,
Brad

885.3 | Check technical guide | NETCAD::PERARO | | Fri May 02 1997 15:00 | 6 |
| Check the VNswitch 900 Series Switch mangement book, I believe that is
where you will find details on upgrading the module. The installation
book basically covers just getting the module up and installed and does
not go into alot of the CLI information.

| Hi Brad
Did you see 852 ! I had the same behaviour like .0 and factory reset
fixed the problem.
Walter.

885.5 | The two problems aren't entirely the same... | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | | Mon May 05 1997 10:47 | 10 |
| Walter, Brad's problem is not the same as the VNbus problem
mentioned in 852. Brad's problem is one of not being able to
do a successful down load to his module. A factory reset won't
fix his problem with not being able to do a sucessful image
down-load. A factory reset might have helped his initial problem
but his inability to load an image sucessfully is a larger problem.
Since, his last communication in here, he has proceeded with getting
his modules exchanged through his normal channels.
