    That's true, it does not connect to the HUB thinwire channel
    by default, but it can be connected to it (I think it's either
    port 11 or 12 on a EE, EF, or EX). Someone else might be able
    to help on the specific port that can be used to connect to the
    thinwire on a HUB900MX. This is done from clearVISN in the LAN
    Interconnect window of MCM.

Only port 12 can cannect to the backpane thinwire.    
    
Port 11 is used to connect to the docking station AUI port.
