Hello All, I have a customer that purchased a Routeabout for the sole purpose of using a PVC between a Alpha and the Roueabout over a LLC2 link. This is to replace DEMSA's acting as X.25 gateway's. We got into the configuration manual as far as the little note that states that PVC's are not supported on LLC2 links on a Routeabout. Needles to say he is not to happy with Wiley and Digital right about now. Are there any plans (that a customer can know about) on adding PVC support to LLC2 DTE any time soon. Right now he may be forced to go with a sync interface for his Alpha to repalce the DEMSA's Thanks in advance for any info that I can pass along to this customer. Alan Anderson Network Support CSC CS

X.25 PVC's are not supported for: - LLC2/X25 Switching - DECnet/OSI connections - X.25 data compression There are no plans to add this support. Obviously, if you feel strongly about this, you should contact the Routeabout product manager Andy Shores (DELNI::SHORES). | |||||

I dont feel strongly about it. But the customer does. He was told that the routeabout is the replacement for the DEMSA. So he wants to know why the routeabouts dont completly replace the demsa's functionality. He will email me his complaint I'll forward it on to Andy Shores. Thanks for your help.
