855.0. "Question about ES ---again" by NNTPD::"eric gan@bejvc" (eric gan) Tue Apr 15 1997 22:55

Hi there,

I post the question again(posted above):

Does the RouteAbout Access ES supports dial backup feature?
Am I in the correct conference about this product?

thanks
eric

As per the other reply, the RouteAbout Access ES only has 1 WAN
port, so it cannot implement dial backup.

Dial backup is the feature where, for example, the link on port 1
fails, then port 2 dials up a backup link, and is applicable only to
routers with 2 or more ports.

    Right -- sorry I wasn't clear.

On the RouteAbout Access ISDN, you could conceivably use the two B
channels in some sort of backup arrangment, but I don't know if it is
    supported.

I guess this conference is as good as any to ask questions about the
relabeled Globetrotters (Access ES and Access ISDN) but you won't find
quite as much knowledge about them, as the software is a buyout as
    well.
