Hi, Just want to confirm how IP un-numbered over PPP or WAN link? since the address for the WAN interface is 0.0.0.x (where x is it's interface number), so which IP address will be used to talk to remote router (i.e. for Aw90EW, if we setup IP un-numbered for interface 2, but use ip address for interface 1, then which ip address will be used for as IP un-numbered for interface 2 ?) Secondly, can we use IP un-numbered for ISDN interface? thanks in advance for help! Andrew Chiu - NSIS Sydney

The router will use the following addresses in this order as the source address on un-numbered links... 1. The configured internal IP address (if there is one) 2. The configured router-id if it matches one of the interface addresses and that interface is UP. 3. The ip address on the lowest numbered interface that is both UP and has an ip address. > Secondly, can we use IP un-numbered for ISDN interface? You run IP on the associated dial circuit, and you should be able to run that circuit unnumbered (the ISDN experts will correct me if I'm wrong). Tony | |||||
