Hello,
I have a strange behaveour at a RouteAboutEI. The Problem is reproduceable
with software-rev. 1.1 and 2.01
A custommer trys to establish a PPP-Connection between a CISCO 4000M
(CISIOS10.3) and a RouteAboute (Rev. 1.1 or 2.01), useing a ISDN-DialUp line.
After initateing the dial-out at the CISCO-Site, the RouteAbout calls back
immediately (according to the log at the CISCO-Box), useing the 2nd B-Channel.
The PPP-Connection is not established.
The following errorlog appears.
The Event "ISDN.041" is not documented in my Guide. I think it only tells me,
that there is a incomming call.
Does somebody know what happen?

| easy things first: ISDN.041 was added late in the game to enable debug
of problems with incoming calls. It indicates a call arriving for that
directory number, which must match the DN0 or DN1 setting of your ISDN
interface (it doesn't appear to in your case).
your outbound call is disconnecting because of reason 0x41, 'bearer
service not implemented'. That's a new one on me...your counters do
show that a call suceeded at some point, but we don't see the trace
information from it, or anything -- in fact from the counters it would
appear to have suceeded?
The fact that the routeabout makes a call right after the cisco call
would appear to be a coincidence. The routeabout is ignoring the
inbound call because it doesn't match the DN0 setting. The routeabout
may be calling to send a routing update or something? I can't tell
without seeing the IP configuration.
BTW, you should set 'SEND LINE-ID' to NO, since cisco won't recognize
it (DEC proprietary).

The problem is solved now!
The original problem was the wrong DN0-No.
Because of a failed authentication of the called party by
ISDN-Line-IDs, the CISCO-Box opened the 2nd ISDN-Cannel.
After correcting the DN0-No, and adding a valid CHAP user/
password (the same for local and remote!?), IP over the PPP-Line
worked properly.
Is there a possibilty to get a actual documentation of all new error-
messages (eg. "ISDN.041", or reason 0x41, 'bearer service not
implemented')?

| The ISDN.041 message was added rather late and missed the doc
deadlines. I'll make sure it's in the online release notes.
We have an outstanding request to document the cause codes (even better
to decode them directly in ELS); hopefully it will be in the next
major release.
