Hello, can anyone tell me if a routeabout bridge port will indicate that it has entered "backup/standby" mode as a result of spanning tree having detected a loop. I have seen "forwarding","learning", and "disabled" but never a "backup/standby" mode. thanks Paul.

Yes, when the port is in Blocking state (which we sometimes refer to as Backup) it should show its state as "Blocking" in the display of spanning tree state. "Blocking" is the term used in the IEEE802.1D standard for this state. Chris |
