Note that since the PIM protocol is still evolving, you are unlikely to have
verndor interoperability so if you need interoperability use MOSPF or DVMRP.

| I'm a little concerned by the mention of "video multicast". Don't expect
particularly good performance, especially on DECNIS, where it is all done by the
MPC).

How about VN products with V2 routing software to do video multicast?
Maybe the performance is better than DECNIS or same with it?

| IP multicast on the VNSwitch is scheduled for a release after VNS-V2. The
performance should be much better than either DECNIS or RouteAbout/DECswitch,
the aim is to do the forwarding in the VNS fast-path processor.
VNS V2 won't support IP multicast routing.

| There isn't a patch for IP multicast. Unfortunately you will have to wait for
vns-V3 or later. Until then only DECswitch, RouteAbout and DECNIS support
IP multicast routing.
