10064.0. "guaranteed I/O bandwidth & CPU binding" by XFMV01::AJITK () Fri Jun 06 1997 05:03
Hi
A couple of queries :
1. A customer mentioned a feature in the file system of
SGI IRIS called "guranteed I/O bandwidth". Does anyone
know what this means, how useful it is for commercial
database applications ?
2. Any experiences on using the processor binding features
of Digital Unix (runoncpu, bindtocpu) in commercial
database applications ? When would one use it ?
Thanks in advance.
