10009.0. "Dunix V3.2F versus Dunix 3.2G patches ..." by TAEC::BACCAR (Notes) Mon Jun 02 1997 09:34

	Hi,

We have an important customer which is having a Dunix problem that is addressed
on DUnix3.2G. Unfortunatly, his platform is using DUnix3.2F.
For lot of good reasons (technical, business, ...), we cannot tell him to
upgrade.

The Dunix Patches that address his problem on DUnix 3.2G are the following ones
(validated on another customer site) :

Patch121 OSF375-350269	"Flock hang on SMP"
Patch122 OSF375-350036	"Problem in Digital Unix SMP ..."
Patch129 OSF375-350286	"deadlock problem"
Patch159 OSF375-350335	"hang on SMP"

Now in the release note, I found in the patch directory, the patch number 259
OSF370-350336 "Threads correction package" seams to address a lot of thread
problems on Dunix3.2F.

Now my questions are the following one's :
[1] How can I be sure that his problem is addressed by the patch 259 on Dunix
3.2F ?
[2] Is there any problem id (qar id) associated with each patches on Dunix ?

	Thanks for your help,
	Regards,
	___Hedi

The OldSytleREADME-1-19970501.txt file contains references to IPMT
cases which you can look up at
    http://cgou23.cgo.dec.com/ipmt_lookup.html

The IPMT case IDs are ...
    PROBLEM: (MGO101698) (Patch ID: OSF370-350105)

    Hope this helps
