10000.0. "Duplicate man pages under /usr/share/doclib/online" by IOSG::MARSHALL () Fri May 30 1997 11:08
Hi,
For expediency I've copied the 4.0B documentation CD to disk. But I note it
contains two large sets of man pages, under
/usr/share/doclib/online/DOCUMENTATION/HTML/usr/share/man and
/usr/share/doclib/online/DOCUMENTATION/HTML/usr/dt/share/man
Are these just duplicates of the normal /usr/share/man and /usr/dt/share/man
directory structures, or do they contain something different? That is, is there
anything in the man pages taken from the CD worth keeping?
It looks like the CD versions are just a subset of the normal ones, but I
thought I'd better check before deleting them.

The manpages on the CD are provided for users who want to view
their manpages on the worldwide web using webman. Webman is
described in the Release Notes. If you're not using webman, you
have no need for the CD version of the manpages.
