The xpdf delivered with the recent freeware CD for Unix 4.0B is at
version 1.1. There are some docs in the pdf 1.2 format. Is there a
copy of xpdf 1.2 for DU 4 ? The xpdf 1.2 for DU 3.2G did not work.

Huh? xpdf versions are like .6 or .7 that I see. see: http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu/usr/dn0o/xpdf/xpdf.html I think adobe as early versions of acrobat reader for digital unix available now. | |||||

When I run xpdf, click on the help option, veresion 1.1 is displayed.
Tried to open some pdf files, but was unable to display the files
because version 1.2 is required. The .7 release that is meant for DU
3.2G was downloaded, it works for the smaller pdf files that I wanted
to display, it is of version 1.2, however I got core dump when I open
other files. The .7 for DU 3.2G cannot work on DU 4.0B.
The xpdf version that was released recently for DU 4.0B is the same
version as the one on the OS CD.

It may be worth looking get the beta version of Adobe's Acrobat for
Digital UNIX. It displays pdf files and can be downloaded from:
ftp://fluid.mro.dec.com/acrobat.tar
