9919.0. "Simulating a failed CPU?" by ALFAM7::STREPPEL () Thu May 22 1997 10:20
Digital UNIX has the nice feature that in case of a failure of a CPU on
an SMP based AlphaServer the operating system masks the failed CPU out
so that during the following reboot it is automatically excluded. Has
anyone seen this happen?
Is there a way to force the kernel to simulate a failed CPU? In order to
test such a feature there should be something available. The same with
controllers etc.
A customer would like to see this demoed.
Regards
Hartmut
