A customer needs to find out if Digital Unix (4.0x) supports multiheaded (regardless of the adapter at this point) that would allow *one* window to span multiple screen? I remember seeing multiheaded stations but as far as I remember, the windows were restrainined to their own screen. The customer says SCO unix can do that and I am really not sure DUnix can or not? Also, has anyone tried the Pro Lightning dual/quad VGA adapter on one PCI card? It has the S3 Trio64V+ and I believe the "not supported" multihead with these chips is because the VGA registers cannot be disabled. However on the dual/quad card, I am sure only one has these enabled (obviously?). More info can be found at: http://www.richer.com/maxvision/prolite.html thanks, Vince.

An ADK called PanoramiX shipped with V4.0 and all of it's variants called PanoramiX. This sounds like exactly what you're looking for. It allows you to arrange your screen in any rectangular configuration and have them treated as one logical screen. A window can span multiple screens, be dragged from one screen to another, etc. There is a man page in the ADK which they should look at to see the restrictions that are currently in the ADK. Also, this will become a fully supported portion of the X server in a coming release of Digital UNIX. |
