1) I need to know, what is the largest amount of virtual memory that can be allocated in the program. I am not talking about the kernel vm_maxvas kernel parameter, but the amount that can be reserved when the application is running. 2) What is the impact of setting the mapentries to a large value, eg 60 to 200 000 on performance. Can this be measured? 3) What are the internal data structures used in processing the mapentries tables ? 4) Does increasing the size of physical memory help the performance in systems with large mapentries? Thanks for any ideas. Regards, Ludmila [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Didn't somebody just these questions a couple of days ago? Repeatedly asking the same question does not often improve the chances of getting the attention of someone that knows the answer. | |||||

Yes, I am the culprit. I lost my bookmark, and when I did search for it, I could not find it. As we had some problems on our server few minutes after I posted it, I thought it did not make the grade. I have discovered the note later, when I was reading notes in sequential order, a bit too late. The original topic is 9862. Regards, Ludmila [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
