9895.0. "Profiling kernel gprof-style?" by SMURF::JPW (John P Williams, DUDE, USG, 381-2079) Tue May 20 1997 18:04
Can anyone answer the attached comp.unix.osf.osf1:15317 newsgroup question
about profiling the kernel (assuming it means the Digital UNIX flavor of
OSF/1) with gprof?
I know there are "#ifdef KERNEL" lines in <sys/gprof.h>, but I don't
know if they can really be used by customers.
My default answer will be to suggest using kprofile.
Thanks
john

Hi:
I want to profile the running OSF/1 kernel. The gprof is available on my
system. However, I cannot find kgmon. Has it been removed from the OSF/1
or just my system hasn't installed it? Hope someone can answer me this
question.
Thanks
