9857.0. "Trucluster + OPS -> ntp protocol problem" by VAXRIO::LEO () Fri May 16 1997 17:29
Hi,
I have a Trucluster Production Server + OPS environment.
The whole environment is compound of 2 AlphaServer 4100 running
Digital UNIX 4.0a.
Everything is going fine.
In fact almost evrything...
Sometimes the environment becomes very slow.
I have noted that every time it happens it is caused by a time
difference between both machines.
The ntp protocol identifies a greater than 15 seconds difference.
So if I issue ntp -s <name-of-the-other-server> in each one of
both machines, the performance gets improved again.
The machines are never rebooted.
But some days later the same thing occurs again.
Is there any fix to that ?
Is this problem already known?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Leo
