9826.0. "Tape to Tape copy" by TKOV51::YAMASHIGE (DEC JAPAN) Thu May 15 1997 05:46

If our AlphaServer has two tape drives(TLZ,TZ),
does UNIX support tape to tape copy ?
I hear 'dd' command support it?

When you know the block sizes of the tapes involved, dd(1)
is very approproate for doing device to device copy. For
very general tape copies where you have multiple block
sizes or variable length records, you may need a different
	program.
