My customer is running 3.2g DIGITAL_UNIX and about 50 or 60 times a day gets Token Ring recovery messages and about 3 or 4 times a day Transmit timeout - Ring Recovery messages on his PBXNP-AA Token Ring Adapter in his Alphaserver 1000A. Customer believes that none of his 80 other nodes are logging any claim or beacon. I saw note 8716 and 5918 in this conference with similar problems, but different to this customer's version of Digital_Unix. Is there any known problem with the PCI token ring adapter or 3.2g Digital_Unix' Token Ring Driver. Will try and get a Token Ring Sniffer from Network General and see what is causing it. Alphonse

9732.1 | are these Thomas Condrad cards? | NNTPD::"[email protected]" | mark | Thu May 08 1997 01:35 | 11 |
are these Thomas Condrad cards? I think they are, in which case they are the same as 4 cards that I have in at a bank here in Sydney. Sofar they have been well behaved on the rings and certinally not loging undue errors mind you though these ring that they are on are pretty quiet. Mark :) ps. My OS is currently 3.2G + patches selected from patches.osf-v3.2g-28mar1997 these cards have been in the network now for 3 weeks. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||

Contact Bob Spear ([email protected]) to see if the TI errata has been backported to V3.2G (I think it has). It sounds exactly like what you're experiencing. |
