9692.0. "Digital UNIX's listing of very long uptimes; QAR #52801" by NABETH::alan (Dr. File System's Home for Wayward Inodes.) Thu May 01 1997 17:23
I submitted this QAR today. I think it speaks for itself.
A MIPS/ULTRIX system we have at this facility recently passed
365 days of uptime. It is running rwhod and when I look at
the time from a Digital UNIX V4.0B system it displays:
% ruptime cxunx2
cxunx2 up ??:??, 0 users, load 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
^^^^^
An older version ULTRIX source displayed this time when the
uptime exceeded 360 days (12*30*24*60*60). But, for the period
after 360 days and now, the Digital UNIX system did fine. It
looks like Digital UNIX just changed the "It can't have been
up that long" check to an even year. It really should behave
better for very long uptime systems.
Uptime on the ULTRIX system does show the correct uptime.

The actual time is:
2:13pm up 365 days, 2:24, 5 users, load average: 0.03, 0.00, 0.00
